Judiciary: IRGC returned suspect in economic corruption case to Iran

 

The spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran’s judiciary confirmed that Rasoul Danialzadeh, known as the Sultan of Steel in Iranian media, has been arrested and returned to Iran by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Esmaili announced that Danialzadeh was in debt to the banks for over 4 trillion tomans (between 300 to 400 million dollars) and has close ties to Hossein Fereydoun, the brother of President Hassan Rouhani.

Earlier, MP Ahmad Amirabadi Farahani announced that the (IRGC) has arrested a suspect in economic corruption cases and returned him to Iran.

Farahani tweeted on Wednesday: “It is rumored that one of the suspects in massive economic corruption cases who had escaped the country after plundering people’s money, has been returned to the country by the Unknown Soldiers of the Messiah (a term used for Iran’s secret intelligence agents).

The MP compared the operation to the arrest and delivery of Rouhollah Zam, admin of Amad News, and added: “If there was no Revolutionary Guard, there wouldn’t be a county.”

The state-owned Young Reporters’ Club, reported that Danialzadeh was “taken from Germany to UAE and from UAE to Iran.”

Rasoul Danialzadeh was known as the Sultan of Steel in the Iranian media. He was first arrested in 2016 for his bank debts, but it was later announced that he had been temporarily released on bail for medical treatment abroad and never returned. He was the president of Gilan Steel and Kavian Steel companies.
