General Jalali: Compared to the drought of 100 years ago, we’re in very good conditions
Gholamreza Jalali, the head of Iran's Passive Defense Organization, says despite severe sanctions if we compare our current conditions to the drought of 100 years ago which destroyed half of Iran’s population, “we are in very good conditions, although there are some problems.”
In a TV interview on Saturday, Jalali claimed that “Iran’s agricultural system is very strong and has met most of the country’s needs for food.”
“If we compare the current conditions of the country to that of the events of 1920 caused by Britain in which half of Iran’s population was annihilated, we are in a very good condition, although there are some problems,” said the head of Iran's Passive Defense Organization.
Jalali added: “The military threat is real, but due to Iran’s capabilities, this threat is at the bottom of the enemy’s list.”
He then stated that the main war is in the field of economy, and since “the enemy hasn’t achieved its goals, that means we have won. Of course, there are some problems in some areas,” because “the American officials expected the economic war to send our people to the food lines.”
Jalali continued: “The United States tries to make the government dysfunctional in order to put pressure on the people and rally them against the government. 2018 was the height of these efforts.”
He hoped that Iran would replace the dollar with a different currency and called for the people to burn dollars.
Jalali also questioned the benefits of the suggested $15 billion credit line for Iran because "we can only get food and medicine with it."
