More Iranian Banks Were Cut off from SWIFT

The Swift executive director announced that several Iranian banks were cut off from the international money-transfer system.

According to Reuters, on Friday, November 9, Gottfried Leibbrandt said that on Saturday and Sunday, access of several Iranian banks to the SWIFT system will be blocked.

Steven Mnuchin, the secretary of Treasury had previously stated on his Twitter page that he expects SWIFT to stop providing services to the Central Bank of Iran and other sanctioned financial institutions.
