Rouhani: The New Round of Sanctions will Have No Effect

Hassan Rouhani, president of the Islamic Republic, promised people that nothing will change on November 4th and the new round of sanctions will have no impact on Iran’s economy.

In the Wednesday cabinet meeting, Rouhani said: “Nobody should even think about the phrase “November 4th”, because nothing is going to happen. Whatever the Americans were planning on doing in November, they already did them in August and September.”

He suggested that the United States claims to have planned stronger sanctions in November, but they have nothing else left and it is all empty words now.

Rouhani also said that the special organization that the Europeans have founded to maintain financial relations with Iran, is an important step in keeping JCPOA alive.

The president denied the accusation that the government is “raising the value of Dollar in order to make money.” He also promised: “The central bank will be able to maintain the control of the exchange market next year in the same manner as it did in the last couple of days.”

He emphasized: “I say it clearly that we have more essential goods in storage than ever before, and we have even decided to increase these resources, although even with the current amount no one should be concerned about the essential goods.”

The new round of U.S sanctions will begin on November 4th. November 4th was chosen symbolically by the Trump administration. On November 4th, 1979, the American embassy in Tehran was attacked by the Islamist Revolutionaries, and the employees were taken hostage for 444 days.
