Zarif Criticized the United States Sanctions

Javad Zarif, the foreign minister of the Islamic Republic reacted to the new sanctions imposed by the United States Treasury against Iranian banks in two tweets, writing: “The United States’ addiction to sanctions is out of control.”

Without naming the Parsian Bank, Zarif stated: “Iranian private bank key to food/medicine import is designated because of eight degrees of separation with another arbitrary target.”

In another tweet, Zarif said the new sanctions show “a disregard for rule of law and human rights” and implicitly asked the United States to allow Iran to import food and medicine.

Researches have shown that the entire financial system is either controlled by the government or the IRGC and the supreme leader.
