Hundreds of Activists Demand the Release of Three Women’s Rights Activists
Over 700 women’s rights activists signed a petition asking for the unconditional release of three incarcerated women’s rights activists.
The petition sites arrest without a prior summon, 10 days in solitary confinement, no contact with family allowed for days, and no access to their own defense attorney as clear violations of the rights of Hoda Amid, Najmeh Vahedi, and Rezvaneh Mohammadi.
The signatories of the petition announced that they hold the executive and Judiciary branches responsible for the physical and mental health of the arrested activists.
Rezvaneh Mohammadi, Najmeh Vahedi, and Hoda Amid were organizing and running workshops on domestic violence, terms of the marriage contract, unfair domestic work, social health, and gender equality.
