At least 24 Dead and 20 Injured in a Terror Attack at the Military Parade in Ahvaz
An attack on the Military parade in the city of Ahvaz left at least 24 dead and 20 injured. Iranian authorities have called it a terrorist attack.
In an interview with Iran International, the spokesman for the Alahvaz movement said: “This attack was done by the Ahvaz national resistance against the IRGC.”
However, no group including Alahvaz has accepted responsibility for the attack.
Tasnim News reported that the bullets were shot from a long distance towards the parade and the marching units.
Ramezan Sharif, the spokesman for the IRGC told ISNA that people who shot at the parade were members of Alahvazia movement. But according to Reuters, ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Gholamreza Shariati, governor of Khuzestan province announced that attackers were four individuals, of which two were arrested and two were killed. According to Shariati, one of the arrested attackers is also injured.
IRNA has reported that “none of the attending authorities have been harmed.”
Amaq, an ISIS website claimed that ISIS was responsible for the attack against the military parade in Ahvaz.
