Ypg Condemns Islamic Republic’s “Identity Manipulation” of Its Member
People’s Defense Unit (YPG) the Kurdish militia in Syria condemned the identity manipulation of its member by the Islamic Republic.
A picture of a banner has recently spread in social media which identifies Mohammad Hossein Karimi, a Tehrani member of YPG, as Ali Asghar Shirdel, a “Defenders of the Shrine” martyr. Defenders of the Shrine is the term used for IRGC forces that fought alongside Assad regime’s forces in Syria.
In response, the official Twitter account of YPG tweeted: “We condemn the manipulation of the identity of our martyred comrades in the fight against ISIS and consider it an insult.” The statement also demands the Islamic Republic to remove the banner.

In a video that he recorded with YPG before his death, he says that he is from Tehran and he was born in 1990.” He was known among the Kurdish forces as “Aryel Kobani”.
