Trump: The Saudi King is Unaware of Khashoggi’s Fate
President Donald Trump announced on his Twitter account that he has talked with the king of Saudi Arabia about the disappearance of Jamal Khashoggi and the king has said that he does not know what has happened to “our Saudi citizen”. He said they will work with Turkey to find an answer. I will immediately send Secretary Pompeo to meet with the king.”
Trump has rejected the idea of canceling his weapons’ deal with Saudi Arabia if they are involved in the murder of Jamal Khashoggi.
But in response, Senator Rubio from Florida said: “I believe the Trump administration will respond, the president said so himself. But if they don’t, the Congress will. I can say this with 100 percent certainty. It will almost be unanimous, both Republicans and Democrats. There will be a strong response from the Congress.”
Saudi Arabia claims to have no information on Khashoggi, while the Turkish police believe Khashoggi was murdered inside the Saudi embassy in Turkey.
Meanwhile, a Saudi Arabian newspaper’s headline warned the accusers: “Do not try our patience.”
Several companies have announced that they will end their cooperation with Saudi Arabia until the fate of Khashoggi is revealed.
Uber was also one of the companies that pulled out of the “Davos in the Desert” summit. In response, the foreign minister of Bahrain asked for a boycott of Uber by the citizens.
