Chairman of Iran-China Chamber of Commerce: Exports Are Frozen
Asadollah Asghar Oladi, the chairman of Iran-China chamber of commerce says Iran’s exports have been locked.
While warning about a “difficult Spring”, he said: “If the pattern of decreasing exports is not fixed, we will not be able to export anything. It has been almost three months that we have had no exports.”
Asghar Oladi criticized the Central Bank of the country and said: “The central bank says the exporters must bring their currency in Nima System. Nima is an office they made up and brought together a few currency exchange businesses. Foreign buyers ask us to provide a credible bank for them to pay us. They don’t recognize Nima.”
According to official reports, in December of 2018, Iran’s exports decreased 56 percent since November. This amount has reached to 85 percent decrease in the industrial exports. This pattern has even spread to neighboring countries like Iraq, which Iran had a good position in its market.
The Central Bank claims that Nima System is a success.
