AG: Intelligence Ministry Should Monitor All Economic Institutions
Mohammad Javad Montazeri, the attorney general of the Islamic Republic compared Iran’s current economic situation to a “serious war with the enemy” and said this war is targeting Iran’s economy.
He asked the intelligence ministry to monitor all economic institutions.
Montazeri continued: “Different sectors must take the issue of espionage seriously; because the enemy has invested in this area. The prosecutors must be active in this field and cooperate with security and intelligence organizations. Today the threat of espionage is very serious, and it is targeting our regime.”
He emphasized: “Based on the intelligence we have, the enemy is planning and working fast in this area, therefore, one of the main duties of the Intelligence ministry, IRGC intelligence, and the police, is to monitor and block the enemy… But the intelligence institutions are not under the control of the judiciary. The judiciary must support them, so they can rely on the judiciary while doing their jobs.”
