Attorneys: Death sentences of Moradi, Rajabi, and Tamjidi were confirmed

The defense attorneys of Amir Hossein Moradi, Majid Rajabi, and Saeed Tamjidi announced that the death sentences of their clients have been confirmed.

Babak Paknia, the defense attorney for Amir Hossein Moradi told Jamaran news that the supreme court has confirmed the death sentence of his client and the other two defendants.

According to Paknia, even though Mohammad Rajabi and Saeed Tamjidi had fired their court-appointed attorneys from prison, their verdicts were sent to those lawyers.

Mostafa Nili, one of the attorneys for Rajabi and Tamjidi also tweeted that his clients’ verdict has been confirmed. He added: “So far we have not been given access to the case, but we hope to reverse the verdict with an appeal request.”

Attorneys Paknia, Nili, and Hosseintaj all had announced previously that they had no access to their clients’ cases.

Paknia said in his interview that the three defendants did attend the protests but did not set fire to any banks or cars and they have also rejected their confessions as being given under torture and coercion.

Paknia had previously claimed that one of the judges of the Supreme Court had told him: “Don’t bother yourself too much, to be honest the decision has already been made for this case.”

The judiciary has denied this claim.
