European Ambassadors Summoned to the Foreign Ministry at Night
The foreign ministry of the Islamic Republic summoned the ambassadors of Netherlands and Denmark, and charge d'affaires of the UK. The summons took place after the events of yesterday when a military parade in Ahvaz was attacked and 25 were reportedly killed.
According to IRNA, hours after the attacks in Ahvaz, Bahram Ghassemi, the spokesman for the foreign ministry summoned these representatives to convey the Islamic Republic’s strong objection to the fact that people connected to the group which allegedly was responsible for the attack, are allowed residence and activity in those countries.
Ghassemi told the representatives that “they must strongly condemn this act of terror” and that their countries must extradite individuals connected to these attacks to Iran.”
In the meeting with the UK representative, Ghassemi objected to Iran International’s interview with Hor Altostari, the spokesman for the “Alahvaz Arabic Freedom Movement,” and called it shameless and unacceptable. Iran International is based in Britain.
Hours after the attack, ISIS took responsibility for it but Hor Altostari claimed it was done by a resistance movement in Ahvaz.
