Mehr News reported that the family members of Pouya Bakhtiari, a young protester killed during the November uprising in Iran, have been arrested by the security forces on Monday.

After Manuchehr Bakhtiari and Nahid Shir-Pisheh announced that they will hold a memorial for their son, they were pressured by the security officials of the Islamic Republic. They were summoned to the Ministry of Intelligence and warned not to hold a memorial for their son, which they refused.

According to Mehr: Despite an invitation and conversation with them, the family members of Pouya Bakhtiari followed the path of the anti-revolutionaries and were arrested by the order of the court.”

The source said the family members were arrested in order to protect the order and security of the people and to prevent the martyr-production project, and said: “We thank the families who figured out the evil plans of the enemy and wisely rejected them.”

Pouya Bakhtiari’s parents had been summoned to the Intelligence Ministry once before almost two days ago. His father had reported that the Intelligence agents emphasized that he should not hold a memorial for his son.
