Incarcerated Gonabadi dervishes in Fashashuyeh prison continues their hunger strike as several of them are transferred to the hospital due to health problems caused by the strike.

One Gonabadi dervish tweeted: “46 days of hunger strike sent 4 dervishes to the hospital.” Adding: “Reza Entesari, Ahmad Iranikhah, Morteza Kangarlou, and Mohammad Sharifi Moghadam were transferred to the hospital due to colon and stomach problems.”

Another Gonabadi dervish reported that these dervishes “are in Firuzabadi hospital, but they are denied visitation and we have no information about their conditions.”

According to HRANA, Human Rights Activists News Agency, 14 dervishes are still on hunger strike.

The hunger strike began in support of the hunger strike of Nour-Ali Tabandeh, the mentor of the Gonabadi dervishes who is under house arrest.

After the attack on the gathering of Gonabadi dervishes at Tabandeh’s house in 2017, the persecution of Gonabadi dervishes has severely increased, with hundreds arrested and sentenced to prison, flogging, and even death.
