Governor of Khuzestan Denies Group Execution

Several Iranian authorities have denied the group execution of the 22 individuals arrested after the terrorist attack on the military parade in Ahvaz. According to IRNA, Gholamreza Shariati, the governor of Khuzestan province referred to this news as “absolute lie”. He said these people have been indicted.

Ahvaz attorney general also told Fars News that “the case of these 22 has not gone to court yet for us to sentence them.” Several other authorities such as the governor of Ahvaz and members of Islamic Assembly also denied this report.

However, on Sunday, several human rights organizations and activists had reported the execution of the 22. They said the executions were done without informing the families and the bodies were not given to the families.

The family members of one of the people arrested told Iran International that he was executed and the security forces told the family not to publicize it.
