Hospitals in Iran refuse to record COVID19 as cause of death
Even though the official report of the COVID9 deaths in Iran show a rapid increase to 1000 victims, Iran International has received reports that indicate hospitals are recoding other causes than COVID19 for their dead patients. Iran International’s reliable sources have reported 2384 deaths from the disease.
A family member of a coronavirus victim told Iran International: “Although the doctors had diagnosed our patient with COVID19 and said it was the cause of death, the hospital wrote heart attack as the cause of death in his death certificate.”
According to this source, the hospital also requested three million tomans for the treatment, although the Ministry of Health had announced that all the medical expenses of corona patients will be paid by the government.
One nurse in Alborz province reported to Iran International that her hospital’s officials have announced that they have not documented any deaths from COVID19 because “those patients had other diseases and would have died from them eventually.”
Others on social media have reported similar cases.
Some citizens from Khuzestan and Khorasan Razavi provinces have reported on Twitter that in their relatives’ death certificate “lung collapse, acute respiratory disease, heart disease, or influenza” have been documented as the cause of death.
