Iran’s official corona death toll announced: 237 dead, 7000 infected
The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Health, Kianoush Jahanpour, announced that the number of COVID-19 cases in Iran has reached at least 7161 and the death toll is at 237.
On Monday, Jahanpour reported that in the past 24 hours, 595 more patients have been identified in the country and added that during the same period, 43 of the identified COVID19 patients have lost their lives.
According to the new report, the number of COVID-19 patients in the country is now at 7161 and the death toll is at 237. Meanwhile, several members of parliament have questioned these numbers.
He announced the number of COVID-19 patients in provinces as follows:
1945 in Tehran, 712 in Qom, 534 in Gilan, 601 in Isfahan, 307 in Alborz, 633 in Mazandaran, 389 in Markazi, 247 in Qazvin, 220 in Semnan, 175 in Golestan, 183 in Khorasan Razavi, 133 in Fars, 151 in Lorestan, 128 in East Azerbaijan, 73 in Khuzestan, 90 in Yazd, 68 in Zanjan, 66 in Kurdistan, 72 in Ardebil, 44 in Kermanshah, 36 in Kerman, 60 in Hamedan, 34 in Sistan and Baluchistan, 52 in Hormozgan, 37 in South Khorasan, 34 in North Khorasan, 26 in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, 31 in Ilam, 69 in West Azerbaijan, 9 in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, and 11 in Bushehr.”
According to the Medical Science universities in the northern provinces of Iran, there is a shortage of hospital beds and supplies in these provinces.
