Iran’s Strong Reaction to U.S Conference in Poland

In response to the news of the U.S conference held in Poland, Mohammad Javad Zarif, the foreign minister of the Islamic Republic called it a shameful unremovable stain for the Polish government.

On Friday, Mike Pompeo announced that next month there will be a conference held in Poland about the middle east, with a focus on Iran’s regional policies. The United States is the host of the conference and Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Morocco, and Emirates will be attending.

The conference will be held on February 13th and 14th. Pompeo says the goal of the conference is to “make sure Iran will not be a destructive force.” Terrorism, fundamentalism, safety and sea trade, and developing missile programs are other topics of the conference. Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel has also been invited to this summit.

Zarif tweeted: “Reminder to host/participants of anti-Iran conference: those who attended last US anti-Iran show are either dead, disgraced, or marginalized. And Iran is stronger than ever. Polish Govt can't wash the shame: while Iran saved Poles in WWII, it now hosts desperate anti-Iran circus.”

He published a document with his tweet that showed at the time of the second world war (During the time of Reza Shah), Iran had hosted over 23000 Polish civilians. He also posted a photo of the Sharm Al Shaikh summit in 1996.

Yesterday in Cairo, Pompeo said that as long as Iran does not act like a normal country, U.S policies regarding Iran, including sanctions, will not change.
