Iran International reports COVID-19 death toll at 638 in Iran

The spokesperson for the Health Ministry of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Kianoush Jahanpour, reported on Friday that so far 4747 people have been confirmed with the virus and 124 have lost their lives. Meanwhile, Iran International’s reliable sources have confirmed that the death toll of COVID-19 in Iran is at least 638.

According to Jahanpour, in the past 24 hours, 1234 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified and 17 have passed away. He predicted that the rising trend of infection would continue in the country.

He referred to Tehran as the new hotspot for the virus in Iran and said so far at least 1413 people have been infected with the virus.

Jahanpour asked the people not to travel during these times in order to prevent the spread of the disease.

The Governor of Mazandaran province ordered the police and armed forces to block all the roads to the province on Friday.

According to Jahanpour, so far 913 patients have been cured and during this time, over 15981 suspected cases were hospitalized.
