Islamic Jihad Delegation Meets with Iranian Officials

U.S state department officials criticized the meeting between the Islamic Jihad group’s delegation and the Islamic Republic officials in Iran.

One source in the state department told Washington Free Beacon: “Meeting between this Palestinian delegation and Mohammad Javad Zarif, the foreign minister of Islamic Republic, is not a good sign for the region.”

According to him, in a meeting between the “biggest government sponsor of terrorism” and a “terrorist group”, chances are the talks will be about destabilizing the region and undermining peace efforts.

Two days ago, the leader of Islamic Jihad of Palestine traveled to Iran and met with the supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In this meeting, Khamenei said that establishment of a Palestinian government in Tel Aviv will be achieved. Islamic Jihad of Palestine is a political and military organization that aims to establish an independent Palestine as an Islamic state.

According to American officials, Iran has hosted Islamic Jihad before and this meeting could be considered a violation of U.S sanctions so Congress can intensify the pressure on Iran’s economy.
