Lawyers Come Out in Support of Arrested Workers

A group of attorneys announced their solidarity with the workers of Haft-Tappeh Sugarcane company and said they are ready to take the case of the arrested workers.

There were rumors that all the arrested workers and journalist were released but the Telegram channel of the Haft-Tappeh workers syndicate announced that they have not been released.

The Hat-Tappeh company’s workers today continued their 17th day of protests in front of the Shush governor’s office and demanded the release of the arrested workers. At the same time, the Khuzestan Steel company workers also announced their support of Haft-Tappeh workers in their own rally. Yesterday, a group of university students also came out in support of the Haft-Tappeh workers. 

The Haft-Tappeh workers have not received their wages in four months.

Haft-Tappeh Sugarcane company is the oldest sugar producer in Iran, and it employs about 4000 workers.
