At least 37 Iranian doctors and nurses have died of COVID19

Reports from official sources in Iran indicate that so far, at least 24 doctors, 13 nurses, and 12 medical staffers have lost their lives to COVID-19 in Iran.

The Dean of Medical Science University in Qom, Mohammad Reza Qadir, has reported that 170 doctors and nurses in the province have contracted coronavirus.

On Sunday, Qadir confirmed that two medical staffers of Qom city hospital have died of COVID-19, and 40 doctors and 130 nurses have contracted the virus.

Since the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak in Iran, Gilan, Tehran, and Mazandaran provinces have had the most deaths among the medical staff.

Previously, the Vice-Dean of Kashan Medical Science University had reported that 15 doctors and 50 nurses in Kashan city have contracted coronavirus.

In Gilan province, nine doctors, eight nurses and midwives, and six orderlies have passed away from COVID-19.

In Babol city in Mazandaran province, four doctors and three staffers of the University of Medical science have passed away from the disease.

In Tehran, eight doctors, including five physicians, two psychiatrists, and one pharmacist have died of COVID-19. At least two nurses have also passed away in Tehran from the disease.
