Six Dead in Firefight Between IRGC and Peshmerga Forces

Ministry of Intelligence announced that several members of “a separatist team” near the western borders were killed or arrested during a “firefight”.

According to the announcement published on ISNA, “the terrorist separatist team had entered the country through the western borders and was staying at a group house.”

The ministry of Intelligence has also reported that “several weapons, grenades, military equipment, and inside information were confiscated”, and claims that the confiscated weapons prove that Arab countries support terrorist acts in Iran”.

Meanwhile, on Friday the Democratic Party of Iran’s Kurdistan announced that “two members of this group and three IRGC members were killed in a firefight near Paveh.”

“Kurdistan Media” also reported that “there was a heavy firefight between IRGC soldiers who had previously surrounded Paveh, and a Peshmerga unit in this city at 8:00 am near the Bidmiri park.”

According to Kurdistan Media, “three IRGC members and two Peshmerga were killed, and the sixth person killed was a civilian Paveh citizen named Farshad Chechanike, who was in the park at the time and was killed by direct shots from IRGC.”

Last month, IRGC targeted the headquarters of Iranian Kurdish groups in Iraq with several missiles which killed two commanders and injured over 38. A day before that, three Iranian Kurdish prisoners were executed on the charge of “being members of Komala party” which led to protests and strikes in several cities.
