Three protesters sentenced to flogging, prison, and death
According to Human Rights in Iran, three of the protesters arrested during the November protests in Iran, named Amirhossein Moradi, Saeed Tamjidi, and Mohammad Rajabi, have been sentenced to death by the revolutionary court presided by Abolghasem Salavati, widely known as Iran's “Hanging Judge”. The three have also been sentenced to 38 years in prison and 222 lashes combined.
The three have been charged with participation in arson and destruction with the intent to fight the regime.
Aside from the death sentence, Moradi has received 16 years in prison and 74 lashes for “participation in armed robbery and harassment at night”.
Tamjidi and Rajabi have both been sentenced to 11 years in prison and 74 lashes on the same charge.
The “armed robbery” charge was brought against them for trying to take a camera away from a security agent who was filming the crowd for later identification.
The trial of the three lasted two days.
