Britain Adds Hezbollah to the List of Terrorist Organizations

The British government announced that Hezbollah is now on the list of terrorist groups and all their activities will be criminalized in Britain.

The Home Secretary Sajid Javid said: “Hezbollah continues its efforts to destabilize the middle east and we can’t distinguish between its political branch and its military branch anymore. So I decided to criminalize the whole group.”

If approved by the parliament, demonstrating Hezbollah flags in public will be forbidden.

Until now, Britain only considered Hezbollah’s military arm as a terrorist entity. Members of Hezbollah demonstrate each year in London on Qods day.

According to the British press, this decision came after repeated warnings by the MPs about the activities of the group in Britain.

If the bill passes, membership in Hezbollah will be considered a crime with up to 10 years in prison for punishment.

Hezbollah is Iran’s proxy in Lebanon. Its leader has openly talked about Iran’s financial and military support and calls himself a follower of the leader of Iran.

The United States, Canada, Netherlands, Israel, and the Arab Union do not differentiate between Hezbollah’s military and political branch and consider the whole group as a terrorist organization.
