Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps fast boats approached USS Essex and USS Rushmore in the Persian Gulf.

According to NBC, this incident took place while General Joseph Votel, the commander of the United States Central Command, was on USS Essex.

According to the report, the small IRGC boats shadowed USS Essex from less than a mile away.

Previously there were many encounters like this between the U.S. Navy and IRGC boats, but since president Trump took office until September this year, these encounters had stopped.
