While Iran has been accused of launching the recent attacks against Saudi Arabia’s oil facilities, the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, denied the allegations and warned that “the enemies of the region” to “learn a lesson” from these attacks.

During his cabinet meeting on Wednesday, President Rouhani emphasized that “the enemies of the region still don’t understand the strength of the resistance,” and talked about the strength of Iran’s proxy militia groups such as Hezbollah of Lebanon, Hashd Al-Shaabi of Iraq, and Houthis of Yemen.

Rouhani claimed that Houthis are responsible for the recent attack on Saudi Arabia: “The Yemenis did not attack schools, hospitals, or markets; they attacked an industrial center to warn their enemies.”

“The enemies must learn a lesson from this warning response by the Yemenis and put out the fire of war in the region,” Rouhani said.

He also claimed that Iran seeks friendly relations with its southern neighbors: “Iran is never the one that cuts ties and ends relationships. Those who end relationships can return and extend a hand.”

However, it was the attack on the Saudi Arabian embassy in Tehran in 2015 which heavily reduced the political and economic relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

The Islamic Republic regime of Iran has also threatened repeatedly in the past that if Iran cannot export its oil, no other countries can export their oils through the Strait of Hormuz either.

Amir Hatami, the Defense Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran also denied Iran’s role in the attacks against Aramco facilities in Saudi Arabia.

“Two years ago, the Yemenis did a similar military operation where they attacked an airport in UAE with a 1200 km range missile.

But the Saudi Arabian ambassador to London told BBC on Wednesday: “It is almost certain that Iran has orchestrated these attacks.

He added: “We try not to respond quickly because more conflict is the last thing we want in the region.”

The ambassador said Saudi Arabia will cooperate with the UN, US, Britain, and anyone else who wants to solve this problem in order to understand what has happened.

Three American officials told CBS News on Tuesday that the attacks against Saudi facilities were launched from a region in the south of Iran and North of the Persian Gulf.
