50 Percent of Villages in Southern Khorasan are now Abandoned

Omolbanin Miraei, chairman of the Labour House in Birjand said that 50% of villages in Southern Khorasan province have been deserted due to droughts, and their residents have immigrated to nearby towns and cities.

According to Miraei, several years of droughts in the province has dried the trees, reduced the product and lowered its quality, and overall destroyed the farming industry. It has had a devastating effect on animals as well.
