Electricity shortage might kill 40 thousand biological samples

 

The president of the national center of genetic and biological resources warned about the risk of losing all its 40 thousand valuable samples due to electricity shortage.

The reason for the electricity shortage of this center is their debt to the electric company due to financial problems.

Abolhasas Shahzadeh Fazeli, the president of this center stressed that these samples are valuable national property that if the electricity is not restored soon, all of these priceless samples will be destroyed in a few hours.

The samples include micro-organisms, seeds, and DNA of endangered or extinct species.
