Iran and Syria Will Not Use Dollar in Their Trades Together
In Jahangiri’s recent trip to Syria, Tehran and Damascus signed multiple trades and economic agreements. The two countries agreed to use their own currency instead of the dollar in their banking deals.
The agreements also include strategic economic cooperation in industries, trade, and agriculture.
The chair of Syria’s chamber of commerce said that this agreement is a step toward overcoming the banking obstacles between the two countries.
Jahangiri, President Rouhani’s first vice president, said that Iran will help rebuild the powerplants in Syria and will also build a new factory.
The railroad officials of the two countries also signed an agreement to increase investments in this area.
Iran helped the Assad regime during the Syrian civil war by sending billions of dollars and troops.
