MP Ghodoosi: Iran is Negotiating with France Over Missile Program
Javad Karimi Ghodoosi, a member of parliament who opposes negotiation over Iran’s missile program, claimed that the foreign ministry officials are “currently negotiating over the missiles with France.”
France had a strong position against Iran during the JCPOA (Iran Deal) negotiations, and since the U.S exit from the deal, France has repeatedly demanded negotiations over Iran’s missile program.
The issue of ongoing negotiations between Iran and European powers has been brought up several times by foreign and domestic media but the ministry of foreign affairs has always denied the rumors.
However, Ghodoosi who is a former Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander and said to be connected to IRGC intelligence, added: “I told Mr. Zarif that there is a tape of you. He said all your information is correct. But we are not negotiating, we are talking.”
The MP claimed: “The United States Army came to our region three times but never dared to attack Iran.”
His claims come at a time when three European powers recently wrote a letter to the secretary-general of the United Nations demanding a full report on Iran’s ballistic missile program.
Germany, Britain, and France believe that Iran’s missile program violates the 2231 resolution of the security council which was passed at the same time as the Iran nuclear deal.
