Rouhani’s Son-In-Law Resigns as Deputy Minister of Industries
After several days of controversy over the appointment of Rouhani’s son-in-law as the deputy minister of industry, today it was reported that Kambiz Mahdizadeh has stepped down from his position.
According to Etemad Online Kambiz Mahdizadeh has stepped down and submitted his resignation to the minister of industries.
His resignation comes after the announcement by the minister of industries that his appointment had nothing to do with the fact that he is the son-in-law of the president and that “the president’s son-in-law is a young elite force.”
The minister claimed that those who opposed his appointment changed their mind after they saw his credentials and resume and “they even congratulated us.”
Less than 24 hours after his statement, Rouhani’s son-in-law resigned from his position due to the strong online reaction against his appointment. He had replaced Razieh Lak, the only female deputy minister of industries.
His resume includes consultant to the CEO of Oil Development Company, consultant to the Karate Federation, board member of martial arts, consultant to the National Youth Organization, and chair of energy technologies and deputy of science and technology for the president.
