U.S Secretary of State Mike Pompeo Announces:

An Alliance Against the Regime of Iran to Support Iranian People

 

Mike Pompeo, the U.S Secretary of State announced that the United States is forming a coalition of countries against the Islamic Republic regime of Iran and in support of the Iranian people.

On Wednesday, January 23, Mike Pompeo described his country’s foreign policy regarding Iran in a satellite interview during the Davos summit.

Pompeo stated that Iran’s threat to the middle east is a reality, and said that the United States is “committed to keeping the region secure and stable.”

Secretary of the State also warned about Iran’s activities in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, and Lebanon, and expressed his content for the formation of a coalition of countries against the Islamic Republic, saying: “These are places where Iran is truly playing an evil role. We are happy that we are forming a coalition with stability and security as its core agenda and which the people of middle east truly deserve.”

It is not yet clear which countries are part of this coalition, but some countries in the middle east are expected to be in it.

Pompeo also mentioned the Poland summit next month in Warsaw, in which foreign ministers of several countries will participate. He said that the goal of the summit is to create stability in the region.

Aside from “Iran’s adventures outside its borders”, Pompeo also mentioned “North Korea’s nuclear program, China’s government-owned economy, and Islamic extremist terrorism” as other challenges his country faces.

The Islamic Republic has warned Poland about the consequences of hosting the Warsaw summit.
