Iran Celebrates the Recapture of Menbij by the Syrian Army
After the Syrian army entered the Menbij in the northeast of Aleppo province, the Islamic Republic saluted this move.
Bahram Ghasemi, the spokesperson for the Islamic Republic ministry of foreign affairs saluted the “raising of the Syrian flag” in Menbij and stated: “The Islamic Republic considers the raising of the Syrian national flag in Menbij a huge step toward stabilizing the sovereignty of the legitimate government of Syria across the country and a new step to solve the crisis in this country.”
The commander of the Syrian army announced on Friday that the armed forces of the country have entered Menbij and raised the Syrian flag on top of its buildings.
The statement continues: “The Syrian armed forces guarantee the safety of all Syrian citizens and residents of Menbij.”
According to sources, the move happened after the Democratic Syria forces which mainly consist of Kurds asked Damascus to support the residents of Menbij against new threats from Turkey.
