While there have been recent reports about the defectiveness of Chinese coronavirus test kits, Iran’s Ministry of Health announced that although it has not used the kits much, it cannot confirm their defectiveness.

The spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Kianoush Jahanpour, announced in his video press conference: Most of the test kits used in Iran so far have been European kits that international organizations had donated to Iran, we are yet to use much of the Chinese Red Cross test kits but cannot confirm their defectiveness.”

Meanwhile, according to Guardian, Spain has stopped using 9000 Chinese test kits since it was proven that they are only correct 30 percent of the time.

The Chinese government claims the company that manufactured the kits was not approved by the government.

At the same time, Czech media have reported that almost 80 percent of the imported Chinese kits are faulty.

Jahanpour added: “We are in the managing phase of the COVID-19 and that is why in Iran you don’t see the images that you have seen in some European countries like Spain, Italy, or some of the American states.

Previously, the Islamic Republic’s state-TV had broadcasted videos from a hospital in Croatia during an earthquake in Zagreb, claiming that it was COVID-19 patients in Italy that were not receiving medical care.

President Hassan Rouhani also claimed that Iranians have not had many of the problems that people in other European countries have faced.

According to official reports of the Islamic Republic, 2378 Iranians have died of COVID-19, but Iran International’s reliable medical sources have reported over 4700 cases.
