IRIB confirms: Head of Iran’s Quds force killed in Baghdad airport attack
In a statement, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) officially confirmed the death of Qasem Soleimani, the head of its international division, the Quds Force) in the attack on Baghdad airport.
According to some reports, Qasem Soleimani, the commander in chief of Iran’s Quds Force, the international arm of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was killed in the Friday night’s explosions in Baghdad Airport.
The Islamic Republic state-TV has officially confirmed the death of Qasem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Mohandes in the attack.
Iraq’s state-TV has also confirmed this report. However, the Islamic Republic authorities and official media are yet to react to this report.
On early Friday morning, some media close to Hashd Al-SHaabi, the Iran-backed militia in Iraq, reported that five Hashd Al-Shaabi members and two guests of this militant organization were killed in the Friday night explosions in Baghdad airport.
According to some reports, Abu-Mahdi Mohandes, the head of Hashd Al-Shaabi was also killed during the Friday night attack.
According to France News, Iraqi security officials have confirmed that eight were killed in the Baghdad airport explosions.
