Khamenei: Iran must give up hope on Europe’s help against U.S
Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic regime of Iran said in a meeting with the members of the Assembly of Experts that Iran must give up hope on the three European parties of the nuclear deal due to their refusal to comply with their commitments.
Khamenei criticized the European countries for “not doing anything” and “remaining loyal to US sanctions” after the United States left the nuclear deal.
“It is very unlikely that they would do anything for the Islamic Republic from now on, therefore we must completely give up hope on Europeans…We must not have any hope or trust in them at all,” Khamenei said.
Referring to the European countries trying to mediate between Iran and America, Khamenei said these countries “talk a lot but it’s all empty talk.”
In recent months, President Macron has made strong efforts to set up a meeting between Iran and America.
However, on Wednesday, Hassan Rouhani announced at the UN that there will be no negotiations between the two countries unless all US sanctions are lifted.
The leader of the Islamic Republic added that relations and making deals with European countries is OK.
Referring to members of Iran’s nuclear deal delegation, Khamenei said: “The same people who negotiated, now say Europeans have not complied with any of their commitments, and this is the strongest reason for not trusting Europeans on any issues.”
Khamenei once again declared the United States as the Islamic Republic’s “main enemy”. He added that the European countries including France and Britain have “economic and political problems” and Iran “must take advantage of this situation.” He did not elaborate.
