Netanyahu: Israeli Army Can Play a Bigger Role in Stopping Iran’s Oil Smuggling

Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel said that his country’s navy can play a bigger role in stopping Iran’s oil smuggling and evading oil sanctions.

According to Reuters, on Wednesday, Netanyahu asked the world powers to stop Iran’s oil smuggling in support of U.S sanctions.

Talking at the navy graduation ceremony, Netanyahu claimed that Iran is evading U.S sanctions through the sea. He said as long as these efforts continue, Israeli navy will play a bigger role in stopping Iran’s efforts.

In previous years before the JCPOA (Iran nuclear deal), Iran would change the names or the registry of ships or the ships’ flags in order to evade U.S oil sanctions.

It is not clear yet how Israel intends to stop such efforts by Iran.
