Netanyahu Responds to Nasrallah’s “Arrogant” Words

Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel promised that if Hezbollah ever uses the “highly accurate” missiles that Nasrallah bragged about in his speech, the Israeli Defense Forces will inflict a “crushing blow” to them.

Netanyahu said: “I heard the arrogant words that came from the direction of Hezbollah. This comes from the same man who said after 2006 that if he had known what Israel's response would be to the abduction of three of our soldiers, he would have thought twice about doing it," Netanyahu said. "Then today I suggest that he think not twice but 20 times because if he confronts us he will receive a crushing blow that he cannot even imagine."

In recent days, a Russian aircraft was shot down by Syrian anti-air missiles, and Moscow accused Tel-Aviv of tricking the anti-air defense system and causing the incident.

Referring to the incident, Netanyahu said that he had called president Putin and told him: “At the root of all these problems, is Iran’s efforts to arm Hezbollah and attack Israel.”

Since the beginning of the Syrian civil war, the Islamic Republic supported Bashar Assad financially and militarily, even though the Islamic Republic authorities claim their military forces in Syria are only advisers. In accordance with a previous agreement between Russia and Israel, Iranian forces were moved 80 kilometers away from Golan Heights.

Netanyahu continued: “We do not want war, but if it is imposed on us, we will defend ourselves with full power. The Islamic Republic openly calls for the destruction of Israel. We will continue to defend ourselves against such threats.
