Pompeo: Khamenei’s fabrication about the origin of coronavirus is dangerous
In response to Ayatollah Khamenei’s comments about the United States being responsible for the Wuhan coronavirus, Mike Pompeo, the U.S Secretary of State said these comments are dangerous and put the people of Iran, America, and the world at risk.
In a statement released to the press on Monday, Pompeo said: “Khamenei’s fabrications that the U.S. is responsible for the Wuhanvirus put Iranians, Americans, and the rest of the world at risk.
On Sunday, the leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ali Khamenei said: “You Americans are accused of creating the virus. I don’t know if there is any truth to this accusation, but when such accusation exists, what wise person would trust you to bring them medicine?
In his response, Pompeo stated that “Facts matter” and listed a few of the facts that have led to the current epidemic in Iran.
- In February, Iran’s chief terror airline, Mahan Air, continued to fly at least 55 times between Tehran and China, spreading the Wuhanvirus. At least five countries’ first cases of COVID19 were a direct result of the Iranian regime’s disregard for everyone’s health.
- As Iran asks for more money, remember: since 2012, the regime sent $16B+ to its terrorist proxies in the Middle East. Officials stole 1B+ Euros intended for medical supplies, and continue to hoard desperately needed masks, gloves, and equipment for sale on the black market.
- The U.S. has offered $100M+ in medical aid to other nations—including Iran—and our scientists are working 24/7 to develop a vaccine.
Khamenei has rejected American offers and spends 24/7 concocting conspiracy theories. How does that help the Iranian people?
Iran International’s documents have shown that contradictory to the claims of Islamic Republic officials about becoming aware of the coronavirus presence in Iran on February 19, the regime was aware of the spread of coronavirus in Iran much earlier, in January.
