President Trump denies sending message to Iran
On Sunday, President Donald Trump told the NBC that he did not send a message to Iran warning them about a U.S attack.
Anonymous Iranian sources had told Reuters that President Trump had sent a message to Iran through Oman warning about an imminent U.S attack, saying he was against war and wanted talks.
“I did not send that message,” said President Trump on Meet the Press. He added: “I’m not looking for war.”
President Trump also said that he does not believe Iran’s aim from shooting down the American drone was to antagonize him.
On Thursday, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) shot down an American drone and claimed that the drone was in Iranian airspace. The United States says the drone was flying over international waters.
On Friday, President Trump confirmed that he has stopped military attacks on three locations in Iran ten minutes before it started when he found out it will leave 150 casualties, which in his mind was “disproportionate.”
He once again emphasized that Iran will not achieve nuclear weapons, and said Iran wants to negotiate due to its “bankrupt economy.”
Meanwhile, White House national security adviser John Bolton, who is currently visiting Israel, warned Iran not to mistake “U.S prudence and discretion for weakness.”
