Russia will not sell S-400 missile system to Iran

Russia rejected Iran’s order for the S-400 missile system.

According to Bloomberg, Moscow’s explanation for rejecting the order was the potential to escalate tensions in the region.

It was reported that Iran’s request for this missile system was rejected directly by President Vladimir Putin.

The Russian ministry of foreign affairs has not issued any statements about this and Iranian officials have also not commented on the matter.

The purchase of these missile systems has caused some controversies in the past. Turkey, an ally of NATO and the United States recently bought an S-400 missile system from Russia, which caused some tension in Turkey’s relationship with the United States. The U.S claims that S-400 are a great threat to F-35 fighter planes and has threatened that if Turkey purchases the S-400 missile system, the U.S will not deliver Turkey’s F-35 fighters

Despite all the discussions about the delivery time of the missile system, Ankara says there is no delay in delivery and the delivery schedule is going as planned.
