Trump Recognized the Sovereignty of Israel Over Golan Heights
As Israel’s attacks on Hamas begins in Gaza, President Trump signed an order recognizing the sovereignty of Israel over Golan Heights.
The heights were occupied by Israel during the war with Arab nations. Many countries including the EU have opposed the president’s decision.
Analysts consider this order a diplomatic success and an election gift for prime minister Netanyahu.
At the same time, Israel has begun its attacks against Hamas positions in Gaza and asked the residents of Gaza not to go near Hamas positions. These attacks are in retaliation to the Hamas attack against Israel last night.
On his Twitter account on Monday, Netanyahu called the rocket attacks by Hamas as criminal and added that due to security issues, he has decided to shorten my visit in the United States.
The Israeli army announced that during the Hamas attacks last night, 7 were injured and two are in critical conditions.
Also, ten days ago, Hamas shot several rockets to an area in Tel-Aviv.
The attacks interrupted the visit by the Egyptian delegation which was negotiating an extension on the cease-fire between Hamas and Israel.
The attacks come two weeks before the parliamentary elections in Israel and they could impact the results of the election.
