UK Foreign Minister Will Attend Warsaw Summit
Jeremy Hunt, the foreign minister of Great Britain, will attend the international “Peace and Security for the Middle East” summit in Warsaw. It was previously reported that the European foreign ministers might not attend the summit.
According to Guardian, Hunt’s condition for attending the summit was to also have a meeting about Yemen’s crisis.
Federica Mogherini, the head of Europe’s foreign policy has announced that she will not attend the summit. Foreign ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, Emirates, Morocco, and the prime minister of Israel are among the guests at the conference. Islamic Republic officials have not been invited to the conference.
Mike Pompeo, the U.S secretary of state has stated that a focus of the summit is Iran’s foreign policy.
Islamic Republic officials heavily criticized Poland for hosting the summit and called it a shameless act. However, the president of Poland responded that the country does not have any interests in the middle east and is hosting the summit as a neutral country.
Ever since the announcement of the summit, Iranian officials have been warning European countries against attending.
