White House National Security Adviser John Bolton Resigns
President Trump announced that he has asked for the resignation of the White House National Security Adviser John Bolton, and he has resigned.
President Trump says the reason for this decision was strong disagreements between the president and other members of the administration with Bolton.
The US president tweeted: “I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House. I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration, and therefore I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning. I thank John very much for his service. I will be naming a new National Security Advisor next week.”
Bolton was appointed as White House National Security Adviser on April 9, 2018. He has worked with several Republican presidents. He was President Trump’s third national security adviser.
Bolton was a vehement opponent of the Islamic Republic regime of Iran.
