The International Transport Workers' Federation Stands with Iranian Truckers

Thursday would be the 12th day of the Iranian Truckers’ Strike in many cities across the country. So far 177 have been arrested.

Among their demands are: Raising the pension and hard labor wages, lower cost of tires and spare parts, and raising the transportation fees.

The International Transport Workers’ Federation has issued a statement in solidarity with the Iranian truckers and their strike and has expressed concern about the fate of the arrested truckers and the Attorney General’s threat of heavy sentences for those arrested.

A number of other international and domestic workers’ organizations have also supported the truckers’ strike.
