The German Red Cross Ready to Receive Donations for Iranian Flood Victims
The German Red Cross announced in its website that it is prepared to receive donations for Iranian flood victims. In the website of the organization, a special page has been allocated to receive financial aid for the flood victims in Iran.
Also, the German ambassador in Tehran announced on his Twitter page that German Red Cross is donating 40 boats with equipment to Iran’s Red Crescent. These donations were delivered to Tehran airport last night.
Yesterday, the EU commissioner of Crisis Management and Humanitarian Aid announced 1.2 million euros in financial aid for flood relief in Iran.
Commissioner Christos Stylianides announced on his Twitter account on Thursday: “Following the severe floods in Iran we are allocating an initial amount of €1.2 million in emergency support to assist the most vulnerable communities. We stand in full solidarity with the Iranian people at this difficult time.”
Recently, the International Red Cross denied the claims made by Iranian officials including Javad Zarif about U.S sanctions impeding humanitarian aid, saying: “If Iran requests help, the International Red Cross has no restrictions to provide it.”
Zarif had claimed that the maximum pressure policy by President Trump was the main problem in the way of humanitarian aid for Red Crescent.
