Iranian chess players won 14 medals in Asian Para Games

In the seventh round of chess competition in the third Asian Para Games in Jakarta, Iranian chess players won five more gold medals and brought Iran’s number of gold medals up to 14.

The blind male and female chess players competed in two categories of standard and fast, and finished with 14 medals for Iran in total, consisting of 4 gold medals, 6 silver, and 4 bronze.

In team competition today, Fariba Zendeh Boodi, Fatemeh Barghole, and Atefeh Naghavi won gold medals. Fatemeh Barghole won a silver medal and Fariba Zendeh Boodi won a bronze.

In individual competition, Maliheh Safayi won a silver medal, and Leila Zarezadeh, Zahra Mohammadi, and Maliheh Safayi won the silver medal in group competition.
