Trump: I Will Monitor Iran from Iraq

President Donald Trump says that in order to monitor Iran’s activities, he is keeping some U.S forces in Iraq.

In an interview with CBS News, president Trump said: “We have spent a lot building our military base in Iraq. We intend to keep it for now. One of the reasons for this decision is that I want to have an eye on Iran because Iran is a real problem.”

He continued: “We continue monitoring to make sure there is no chaos, and to see if anyone is trying to produce nuclear weapons and such, and to find out before they can do anything.”

When asked whether keeping the base is a preparation for a potential attack against Iran, he answered: “No. I just want to monitor Iran.”

He also said that the U.S military base in Iraq is useful for monitoring the conflict regions in the middle east.

According to Trump, U.S forces will leave Syria and some of them will be deployed to the U.S base in Iraq.
